This daughter of Archibald was known to exist via "A Hitch Orchard", however, she was unnamed in that reference. By checking census records for 1840 Blount Co., Tennessee and also through the process of elimination, we find a marriage of May Hitch and Robert H. Scott in 1843 Blount Co. Mary could only have been a daughter of Archibald.
Mary married Robert Houston Scott, son of Robert Scott and Margaret Houston, on 02 Oct 1843 in Blount Co., TN.1 (Robert Houston Scott was born in 1815 3 and died in 1866 3.)
