On Mar 20 1747, he had the tract STANFORDS FINDING surveyed for him for 100 acres.On Jan 25 1755 Joseph Stanford sold 50a of it to William Stanford (SoLR-B:052) On Apr 6 1772 he sold 11.5a of it to Jonathan Stanford, for 5s (SoLR-E:188) and, same day he and Thomas Stanford sold 38.5a of it o Levin Gunby, for £53.18 (Ibid-E:191)

He began selling off his lands to his sons for very little money in 1772 probably as he was approaching the end of his life.

Joseph married Sarah Vance?, daughter of David Vance and Unknown. (Sarah Vance? was born about 1705 in Somerset Co., MD.)
