Jethro Morris
- Born: Abt 1754, Worcester Co., MD
- Marriage (1): (?) Smith
- Died: Bef 06 Oct 1815, Worcester Co., MD
*NOTE: some genealogies have persisted in making Jethro, Jethro CORNELIUS Morris. This compiler, in examining the records, believes that the father Thomas Morris had sons Jethro and Cornelius, not Jethro Cornelius as a single son. There are contemporary people Jethro and Cornelius present in the census and other records that support the case for two separate sons named Jethro and Cornelius. It seems a misinterpretation of the transcribed will for Thomas Morris caused this confusion.
On May 13 1793, Jethro Morris had surveyed the 44a tract JETHROS LOT (JEETHREWS LOT) "back in forest abt 3 mi from Pocomoke River." The tract in modern day (2025) is a mile or so due west of Powellville, just north of Mt. Hermon Road.
As head of household in the 1800 Census, he is listed as age 45+ (born <1756).
He died intestate as a bond was given to administer his estate on Oct 6 1815 in Worcester Co. with Thomas Morris as administrator but no will was filed.
Jethro married (?) Smith. ((?) Smith was born about 1765 in MD.)
