DEATH CLAIMS 3 AGED WOMEN
Mrs. George Hardesty, Mrs. Caroline Zeiger and Mrs. Mary E. Jackson Die at Advanced Age
Mrs. Mary Ann Hardesty, wife of George Hardesty, died at her home in this city at 7:30 o'clock Sunday morning. She had been in failing health for several years and became seriously ill Friday. The funeral party left the Wilson & Son Funeral Home at 2:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and a brief funeral service was conducted at the grave in Holy rosary Cemetery by the Rev. E. Connolly. Mrs. Hardesty was 83 years old. The daughter of William Hitch and wife, she was born at New London, MO., October 09, 1850. She was twice married, being the mother of six children by her first marriage. Of these only two sons survive, Ed Millard of Rockport, Illinois and Willie Millard of Kansas City. She reared three stepchildren after her marriage to Mr. Hardesty, one of whom survives with her husband. Mrs. George Sheffield of Pampa, Texas. Surviving also are three grandchildren, Mrs. Marie Olsen of Galesburg, Illinois, Mrs. Ed Berlin and Paul King of Monroe City. There are four great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one nephew, Elmer Hitch of Hannibal. She was united with the Christian Church more than 40 years ago

Mary next married George T. Hardesty, son of Hillary Hardesty and Catherine Matilda Miles, in 1906. (George T. Hardesty was born in 1861 and died in 1943.)
