"Mr. Elijah Freney, who lived on a farm adjoining and south of Delmar, but in Somerset Co., Md., married Mary Ellen Fooks. who is a descendant of Thomas Hearne, the youngest son of William Hearne, the merchant."
"Mr. Freney's residence is on the tract "St. Kitt's," and about a quarter of a mile from it is the site of the residence of the merchant William, and very near to it is the first burying ground, where are buried the merchant William and his wife Mary, and their son Thomas, who lived and died at the old homestead, and his wife Sally Wingate, and several of their descendants, among them their son Nehemiah and his wife Betty."

On Mar 28 1889, Amelia J. Elliott, wife of William Elliott, received a lot of land for $1.00 in Delmar, MD bordering the MD/DE state line and east with 70' front on Division Street from Elijah Freeny and his wife Maria E., and Merrill H. Tilghman and Olevia A. his wife. Mentions deeds from Oct 21 1882 (She had purchased the lot then for $400 from Tilghman, (WiLR-FMS1:82) and Nov 28 1873 (WiLR-SPT3:151) (WiLR-FMS4:439). On the same day. William and Amelia J. Elliott (at one point it says William B. Elliott but at another point the "B" is crossed out, it looks like this mortgage includes their son William B. Elliott) executed a $400 mortgage from Samuel W. Freeny on the south side of the street dividing the states in Delmar, MD. Freeny noted in the record he was released of the mortgage on Dec 23 1897.
