Hubert Ray Brown
Hubert Ray Brown, 81, of Salisbury died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Fruitland, he was a son of the late Raleigh Day Brown and Grace Farlow Brown. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a 50-plus life member of the Red Men's Lodge in Fruitland and Salisbury Moose Lodge 654. After leaving the Army, Brown worked in the family business as a carpenter for Larry J. Causey and Sons. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Brown Megargee of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Brown Jr. and his wife, Danielle, Rachael Megargee and Mary (Molly) Megargee, all of Salisbury, and Whitney N. Tyndall of Parsonsburg; his niece, Barbara Jefferson; brother-in-law, Larry J. Causey Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Cora Haight and her husband, Chuck, Charlotte and Signe Causey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Causey Brown, in 2007; two sons, Jeffrey A. Brown Sr. in 1986 and an infant son, Bruce Brown; and two sisters, Margaret Furniss and Ann Smith. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation Tuesday evening from 6--8 and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The Rev. Oren C. Perdue will officiate. Interment will follow in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Memorial contributions may be made to Fruitland Fire Department, Red Men's Lodge or your charity of choice. Hubert married Norma Lee A. Causey, daughter of Larry James Causey Sr. and Katherine Victoria Willis, in 1953. (Norma Lee A.
