Garner Burgess Hitch
(Between 1790/1795-1840) |
Garner Burgess Hitch 3
There was a Burgess Hitch, son of Nathan Hitch who received property of his father when it was divided in 1817. Burgess Hitch was also implied in John Barbee's will as a son-in-law. There was also a Garner B. Hitch who was born in Virginia about 1795. Given this and the fact that Nathaniel Hitch (also of Nathan) moved to Missouri may point to the conclusion that Garner B. and Burgess Hitch were the same person. This was later proven true as Garner B. Hitch and Burgess Hitch, the same person, are mentioned in father-in-law John Barbee's will. Garner married Mary Barbee, daughter of John Barbee and Mary Dyson, on 10 Dec 1815 in Fauquier Co., VA.1 2 (Mary Barbee was born on 12 Aug 1792 in Fauquier Co., VA,5 6 7 8 died on 11 Feb 1882 in St. Charles Co., MO 2 5 8 9 and was buried about 14 Feb 1882 in Linn Cemetery, Wentzville, St. Charles Co., MO 8.) |
