1810 Census, Wicmico Hundred, Somerset Co., he is head of household with 10010-00100-01 (born 1766-1784). He is very near the Joshua Disharoon household whose granddaughter Ann Twilley married George J. Porter for possible connection of this George Porter as f/o George J. Porter.
On Jul 5 1818, George Porter was assigned to apprentice Stephen Malone Jr. to learn the trade of farming until he reaches the age of 20 (SoLR-JD4:100). On ug 16 1818, George Porter sold to William Disharoon a negro girl named Lear, age about 16 years (SoLR-JD3:521)
In 1820, George Porter is head of household with 210110-03011-05 (born 1776-1794, narrowing the range to 1776-1784 when considering 1810 as well) further strengthening the case as George J. Porter was born in 1819 and could be one of the young sons in the household.
George married Elizabeth D. (Betsy) Disharoon, daughter of James Disharoon and Sarah Daugherty, on 14 Mar 1809 in Somerset Co., MD.1 (Elizabeth D. (Betsy) Disharoon was born about 1786 in Somerset Co., MD and died in 1841-1849 in Somerset Co., MD.)
