EDEN \emdash Phyllis "Mom" Foxwell, 70, passed away surrounded by family, friends, and her loving husband on Monday, May 14, 2012, at her residence in Eden. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer.
Phyllis was born on Sept. 5, 1941, in Wicomico County to the late George "Chick" Nuse and Susie Mary Johnson Nuse. She graduated from Wicomico High School in 1959. She married her loving husband of 50 years, James Golden "Jim" Foxwell, in December 1961. In 1985, they moved to their farm in Eden, where their love and family grew, and where her husband continues to live and nurture their family after her passing. Phyllis worked at C & P Telephone for 25 years and retired in 1993. She loved spending time with her husband, family and friends. She was an avid bingo player. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; as well as her brother William "Bill" Nuse; brother-in-law, Richard Lee Foxwell; and her husband's parents, Richard and Evelyn Foxwell.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of many who called her "Mom," and all those who loved her. She is survived by her husband, James Golden "Jim" Foxwell; four children and their spouses, son, Robert Allen Foxwell and Jessica, son, Steve Foxwell and Caroline Smith, daughter, Valerie Culp and Wayne, and son, James "JR" Foxwell and Christy; seven grandchildren, Lydia Foxwell, Allen Foxwell, Gabrielle "Gabby" Foxwell, Alex Wilson, Evan Mumford, Jessica Truitt and Holly Larmore; two great-grandchildren expected in September; her brother, Wayne Nuse, his wife, Marlene Nuse, and their daughter and son-in-law, Angelina and Cliff Loveland; Her brothers-in-law, Ralph and William Foxwell; as well as many other wonderful friends and family members.
