In March 1753, Levin Carey gave his son Thomas, fifty acres of "Williams Chance" (WoLR-C:287). In April 1760, he deeded his son Thomas Carey, planter, land granted unto Levin called "Careys Luck" fifty acres Liber, pp, 252-253 and at the same time, Thomas deeded his part of "Williams Chance" back to his father. This left Levin Carey still owning one hundred fifty acres of Land, all in what is now Wicomico County. Later deeds for this land show "Williams Chance" was located a short distance southeast of Fruitland, Maryland, "near the head of Toni tank Creek" (WoLR-R:7)
Thomas Carey wrote his will Feb 2 1783 and it was probated in Worcester on Mar 10 and 1783 -To daughter Easter Dickson - colt -To daughter Rhoda Radish - mare called Nancy, bed and furniture -To surviving children remainder of estate ("eldest son Hezekiah Carey ... at this time very unwilling to assist me, therefore in case that he should return to his duty and assist me") - remainder of estate "whereas my wife Mary Carey hath for time past behaved herself towards me in a very untoward manner, I request that all my estate ... as it was at the time of my marriage be entirely freed from any claim or demand that she the said Mary Cary may lay any claim to.."
