Clement Thompson wrote his will on Sep 8 1832 with codicil on Jan 12 1833 and it was proven in Montgomery Co., MD on Jul 4 1843:
- To beloved wife Sarah, the whole of my estate during here widowhood, then to my children at her death or when she marries
- To 3 sons Richard, Thomas and Henson Thompson, 265.25a of land I purchased of Elijah Williams & others, William Phips, Eleanor Palmer and James/Davis Magruder being part of tracts "Benjamins Square" (63.5a), "Land of Goshen," and a resurvey of "Benjamins Square" (66.5a), another resurvey of "Benjamins Square" (25.5a), "Addition to Brooks Grove," "Fair Hill," "Brooks Piney Grove" (109.75a). Richard to get 65.25a, Henson 100a laid off to include my home house and dwelling and some wood, Thomas 100a on the SE side of said land.
- To eldest son Richard $200 he owes me per a note I hold
- To son William, tract of land purchased from Joshua W. Dorsey called "Dorseys Meadows" containing 63a if he pays $500 to my executor
- To my two daughters Massyann Crawford and Ruth English, the farm I purchased from Zadoc Magruder near Middlebrook Mills parts of tracts "Rockhead", "Pleasant Valley", "Pleasant Fields", "Younger Brother", "Peace and Plenty", "Peckerton" all containing 189.5a
- To daughter Lethy Penn, wife of Rezin Penn, $700
- To daughter Matilda Burns, w/o John Burns, $700
- To granddaughter Harriett Thompson, d/o Richard Thompson, a feather bed/bedstead and furniture and $50
- Negro woman Jinny and her sons George and John be sold but not out of the family as they should never serve anyone except my children and if Jinny ever gets to not being able to work, her maintenance shall come from my estate
- Remainder of estate to be sold to pay debts
- Two sons William and Henson to be executors
Codicil changed Matilda and Lethy's legacy to $600 each and gave each Massyann and Ruth $100
