In the 1830 Census, Martin Hasting is head of household in Little Creek Hundred, Sussex Co., DE with 000100100000-000100100000.

Sussex Co. Orphans Court records state that Martin Hastings died intestate on Sep 13 1831 leaving behind Mary, his widow, and children Mariah Ann married to Felty Hastings, Winder Hastngs aged about 17 years and "Hierena" Hastings aged about 16 years. He had 23 acres of land in Little Creek Hundred adjoining Jacob Morris and William Sirman (as Surmon) and others. Each child to have one part of the land each. (SxOC-1832, orig papers)

On Feb 5 1837, Irena (also Areny is this record) Hastings sold land to Jacob Morris. The land was described as that owned by Martin Hastings, dec'd, who died intestate and left three children as heirs viz., Felty, Winder and Irena Hastings. Irena is selling her bequeathed portion herein to Jacob Morris, a part of the tract "Virginia," for $5.00, a total of 22 5/8th acres. (SxLR-Reel 42:102)
