OBITUARY: L. A. Smith - Funeral services for Louis A. Smith, 84, retired carpenter and builder, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Holloway Funeral Home. Mr. Smith died Saturday in Peninsula General Hospital after a short illness. He had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Arthur L. Widdowson, Hayward Ave., Fruitland. The Rev. Walter A. Donoway, associate pastor of Bethesda Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Fruitland. Mr. Smith was born in Wicomico County, a son of the late Albert F. and Mary Hilghman Smith and husband of the late Mrs. Lucy E. Smith. He formerly was employed with J. Roland Dashiell and Sons, Inc. Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Widdowson, are three other children, Mrs. Conrad Livingston, Salisbury, and Sewell and Louis E. Smith of Fruitland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dewey Smith, Eden, and Edward and John Smith, of Salisbury; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Walters, Hoopersville, Mrs. Agnes Smullen, Fruitland, and Mrs. Beulah Fields and Mrs. Florence Malone of Salisbury, and several nieces and nephews. Townsend, daughter of Elijah Townsend and Henrietta Emma Williams, about 1903. (Lucy E.
