Edward Naws
On Feb 14 1726, there was a land transaction between William Beckett and Jacob Kollock (gentlemen) of Lewes Town to Edward Naws, yeoman, lands and marshes on the north side of the Broadkiln belonging to the estate of Cornelius Wiltbank lately deceased for £60 current money (record is hard to read) (SxLR-Roll 003:237). On April 23 1730, Edward Naws (carpenter) paid Joseph Spencer (yeoman) and his wife Mary £33.15 for land on the north side of the Broad Creek containing 242 acres (SxLR-Roll 004:005). Edward married Mary Bailey, daughter of Jonathan Bailey and Hannah (?), about 1714. (Mary Bailey was born about 1695 and died after 1743 in Sussex Co., DE.) |
