On Feb 14 1726, there was a land transaction between William Beckett and Jacob Kollock (gentlemen) of Lewes Town to Edward Naws, yeoman, lands and marshes on the north side of the Broadkiln belonging to the estate of Cornelius Wiltbank lately deceased for £60 current money (record is hard to read) (SxLR-Roll 003:237). On April 23 1730, Edward Naws (carpenter) paid Joseph Spencer (yeoman) and his wife Mary £33.15 for land on the north side of the Broad Creek containing 242 acres (SxLR-Roll 004:005).

Edward Naws wrote his will Sep 4 1742 and it was probated in Sussex Co., DE Feb 3 1742/3 with the following provisions:
- To wife Mary 1/3rd of my real and personal estate forever
- To daughter Hannah Naws that tract of land I now live on containing 240a with dwelling house and other houses with orchards and other improvements thereon
- To 3 sons now in Maryland 15 shillings equally divided
- To daughter Hannah all my personal estate
- To grandchild now in the womb of Mary Naws, widow and relict of Nathaniel Naws, whether male or female two four acre lots with houses and improvements but they may be sold and the money put to use until the child comes of age
- Beloved wife Mary to be executor
