Ilona T. Benjamin, 90 of West Chester, PA died Wednesday February 6, 2013 at her daughter's home in West Chester. She was the wife of Wilbur L. Benjamin. Born in Richmond, IN she was the daughter of the late Frank Svarczkopf and the late Magdolna Hausmann Svarczkopf Ilona was an avid card player and taught her children and grand-children how to play bridge, euchre, and other games. She also was a quilter and seamstress, and taught to crafts to many through the shop she ran out of her home. She cared for her family and disabled son for many years and was a great cook. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Linda (Robert) Bauer of Dallas, TX, Leonard Benjamin of Coatesville, PA, Gwen (Mort) Martin of West Chester, PA, Dana (Bill) Lynch of West Chester, PA, Pete (Karen) Benjamin of Cary, NC, grandchildren, Kim, Brendan, Kristin, Kerry, Brad, Andrew, Madalyn, Hannah, great-grandchildren, Austin, Frankie, Cassie, Colin, and Ryann, Also survived by siblings Ambrose (Margaret) Svarczkopf of Richmond, IN, brother, Anthony Svarczkopf of Indianapolis, IN, brother, George (Louise) Svarczkopf of Lakewood, NJ, sister, Irene (Ken) Lohmeier of South Lake Tahoe, CA, two sisters-in-law (Virginia and Joy), one brother-in-law (Jules), and many, many nieces & nephews. Relatives and Friends are invited to her Funeral Mass, 10 am Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380. Visitation will be held 4 ?" 6 pm Sunday February 10, 2013 and also from 8:30-9:30 am Monday February 11, 2013 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc. 410 North Church Street West Chester, PA 610-696-1181. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice 795 E. Marshall Street, Suite 204 West Chester, PA 19380. Ilona married Wilbur Louis Benjamin, son of Wilbur Ralph Benjamin and Bessie Leland Hitch, on 26 Jan 1941 in Richmond, Wayne Co., IN.1 (Wilbur Louis Benjamin was born on 15 May 1919 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN,1 died on 12 Sep 2013 in PA and was buried about 15 Sep 2013 in St. Agnes Cemetery, Chester Co., PA.) |
