William Francis Rooks, 86 of Salisbury, MD, died peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late William Frank and Sadie Ann (Jones) Rooks. Bill was a member of St John's Methodist Church in Fruitland. He was a lifelong farmer and worked for Wicomico County Board of Education for 32 years as a bus driver. He will be remembered by many as Mr. Bill on bus 36. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife: Norma Minner Rooks, sons, William Frank Rooks and his wife, Kim, Michael Minner and his wife Sherry, a daughter, Maureen Edwards and her husband, Billy, son, Gary Minner and his wife Debbie, all of Salisbury and Teri Bodner and her husband Gerd of Innsbruck, AUS, grandchildren, Billy Rooks, Amanda Rooks, Jason Edwards, Jaime Lauridsen and her husband Chad, Tara Minner, Hayley Minner, Ian Minner, Hanna Bodner, Brittney Bodner, great grandchildren, Riley Minner, Nicholas Birch and special cousin, Rosalie Dykes and her husband Louis.
A Funeral service will be held Friday, November 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation from noon to 2 at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Sherwood will be officiating. Interment will be Friday at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to St. John's United Methodist Church, 312 E. Main St., Fruitland, MD 21826.
