On Aug 8 1693 Henry Smith sold 200a of land in "Pitchcroft" (Smith Island) "part in MD, part in VA" to John Tyler (the records mentions the MD-VA border, Cow Ridge Thoroughfare) (SoLR-L1:113)

John Tyler wrote his will on Mar 30 1733 and it was proven on Mar 22 1734 (new style) in Somerset Co., MD as follows:
- To grandson Tyler Crockett, bed/furniture
- To grandson Joseph Crockett, next best bed/furniture
- To grandson Butler Tyler, next best bed/furniture
- To son Thomas Tyler, last bed and bedding that belongs to it
- To grandsons Tyler and Joseph Crockett and son Thomas Tyler, all the rest of my immovables to be divided equally at my decease
- To son Thomas, all my plantation with all the land
- To son Aldon Tyler, 12 pence
- To son Richard Tyler, 12 pence
- To son John Tyler, 12 pence
- To daughter Else, 12 pence
- son Thomas Tyler and Arthur Parks to be executors

John married Elizabeth (?) about 1687 in Somerset Co., MD. (Elizabeth (?) was born about 1667 and died in 1693-1694 in Somerset Co., MD.)

John next married Alice Butler on 08 Mar 1694 in Somerset Co., MD. (Alice Butler was born about 1670 and died before 1733 in Somerset Co., MD.)
