John Johnson, as a first settler, had land surveyed/patented for him, "Johnson's Lot" for 200a in Annemessex, Somerset Co., MD on Feb 14 1664/Sep 8 1666, respectively. It was based upon a transport warrant to Johnson for himself, Elizabeth Johnson, Morris Liston, and Evis Groton.

John Johnson, planter of Annamessex, made his will Mar 30 1676, which was recorded around May 1676 among the land records, devising to loving wife Elizabeth Johnson all personal and real estate to enjoy as her own property and after her decease to be the proper right of grandchild John Cullen the son of George Cullen; witnesses John Sterling, Richard Barnes (SoLR-L2:43). The inventory of the estate of John Johnson was appraised by W. Lane and Thomas Peall at £37.1.6 and approved by Elisabeth Johnson c1717 (SoI-39C:139).
