Thomas D. Denston
Funeral service for Thomas D. Denston, 79, Cassadaga, who died Fri., Nov. 30, 2007, at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, will be 12 noon today (Tues., Dec. 4) at Allen-Summerhill Chapel in Orange City with William Denston officiating. Burial will be in DeLand Memorial Gardens. Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 11 a.m. until service time. Mr. Denston was born March 28, 1928, in Whitesburg, Md., and moved here in 1973 from Newark, Del. He served in the Navy and was the former owner of three Goodyear tire franchises in Newark. His children and grandchildren were his life. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Regina, and his sons, Thomas Jr. and Jeffery Denston. Survivors include his son, Edward T. Denston (Gloria), DeLand; daughters, Patricia E. Lesick (Mike), and Diana E. Hughes (Kerwin), both of Lake Helen; brother, William B. Denston, Lake Helen; sisters, Lydia Brenner, Deltona, and Shirley Barbas, Newark; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations suggested to DeLand Rotary Club.
