ORMOND BEACH -- Lawrence L. Shiles Jr., 74, of Colonial Circle, owner of Shiles Construction, died Friday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial. Mr. Shiles, an Army veteran, was a Daytona Beach native and lifelong area resident. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Betty; a son, Paul, Ormond Beach; a daughter, Sue Shiles, Orlando; a sister, Mae Anderson, Ormond Beach; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, East Volusia Unit, 146 Orange Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Ormond Funeral Home is in charge.
