In 1820, the household in Broad Creek was 001101-01101, narrowing his birth year to 1765-75. Back in 1800, he is in Bogerternorton Hundred, Worcester Co., MD as 30010-10010. That means there are daughters born 1795-1800 and 1800-10 in the household, candidates for our Polly Quillen.
On Mar 6 1806, Joseph Quillin puchased 139a of land in Broad Creek Hundred from Eli/Sally Gordy for $840, 61a of NORTH WALES, 50a of FIGGS CHANCE, 8a of NEW DISCOVERY and 20a of GORDYS PURCHASE (where Eli Gordy now lives). On Nov 9 1808, Joseph Qullin and Rhoda his wife sold land in Broad Creek Hundred to James Penton, GORDYS PURCHASE, surveyed for Eli Gordy, excepting 20 acres within that belonging to Gordy. On Dec 16 1809, Quillen purchaes a portion of MILL LANDING ENLARGED from Joshua/Nancy Brattan and Betsy Armstrong for 78 3/4a for $2000. On May 5 1813, Joseph Quillen and Priscilla his wife sold Jenkins Massey 21 1/2a of MILL LANDING ENLARGED. On Aug 30 1816, Isaac & Jacob Cannon purchased land from Joseph/Priscilla Quillen for $1271.50, part of NORTH WALES, ABSALOMS LOT, FIGGS CHANCE, NEW DISCOVERY, GORDYS PURCHASE, DISCOVERY, FOLLY. It is adjacent to OAK GROVE and Eli Shiles divsion line. 191a + 7 1/4a.
On Jan 17 1817, Eli Shiles purchased from Joseph/Priscilla Quillen ANDERTONS WISH (states Joseph Quillen patent but was surveyed for Mary Brattan Anderton, heir of James Brattan according to other records) near OAK GROVE and STEVENS LANDING. On May 23 1817, Joseph Quillin purchased from Nancy Wright, wife of Oakley H. Wright, land for $5.00, part of WRIGHTS MILL SEAT, ROTTERDAM, BEAUCHAMPS UNEXPECTED LOT, adjoining lands of Charles Beauchamp, Samuel Eskridge, Charles Smith and said Joseph Quillin formerly owned by Oakley H. Wright. On Nov 24 1826, Joseph/Priscilla Quillen sold land to Isaac & Jacob Cannon for $26.96, portion of MILL LANDING ENLARGED near OAK GROVE, containing 5a-63p.
All of this land today is located on the road from Laurel to Woodland Ferry (old Cannon's Ferry, just south of the road) and WNW of Portville, DE and includes frontage on Broad Creek.
