Charles Curtis Hitch

SNOW HILL - Charles Curtis Hitch, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Lakeside Assisted Living at Mallard Landing in Salisbury. Born in Snow Hill, he was the son of the late Curtis T. Hitch and Virginia Harris Hitch. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Hitch.

Hitch was a graduate of Snow Hill High School. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He attended Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Del. He worked for many years as an accountant with Moore Business Forms. He was a man of great faith and a lifelong Christian. He loved gardening, baseball and softball and formerly coached in the Snow Hill Little League. He was a member of Spence Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. Hitch was also a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. Along with his wife he is survived by two sons, Keith A. Hitch, Sr. and his wife Linda and Michael C. Hitch, Sr. and his wife Barbara; five grandchildren, Keith Hitch, Jr., Evan Hitch, Erica Hitch, Michael Hitch, Jr. and David Hitch; one great grandchild, Makenzie Hitch; amd lifetime companion, his dog Molly. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Turton.

Services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spence Church Elevator Fund, 7603 Spence Church Rd., Snow Hill, Md. 21863. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Charles married Betty Lou Pusey, daughter of Preston Elwood Pusey and Mabel Hancock, on 08 Sep 1956 in MD.¹ (Betty Lou Pusey was born on 21 Oct 1935 in MD,⁴ died on 31 Oct 2020 in Salisbury, Wicomico Co., MD and was buried on 09 Nov 2020 in Spence Baptist Church Cemetery, Snow Hill, Worcester Co., MD.)
