Nancy R. Hitch, 75, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Born on August 14, 1936 in Odessa, DE, she was the daughter of the late Hazel (Connors) and James Harmonson "Taddy" Reynolds. She was a graduate of Middletown High School, Class of 1954. Nancy was retired from the Town of Middletown, where she devoted more than 40 years as the town clerk. She was an avid collector of Longaberger baskets. Mrs. Hitch was a member of the Middletown and New Castle Women of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul McNatt. She leaves many wonderful memories to her three children, Judy Massey and her husband, Bernie, John Hitch and his wife, Donna and Ed Hitch and his wife, Jean; a sister, Margaret McNatt; brother, James Reynolds and his wife, Yvonne; five very special grandchildren, Jill, Brian, John and Kyle Hitch and Josh Massey; a niece; several nephews and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held 3 pm on Friday, August 10 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with her family from 2-3 pm. Interment will be private.
