Benjamin "Ben" R. Hitch, 67, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Memorial service is 10:30 am, Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Lincoln Berean Church, 6400 S 70th. In honoring his wish for cremation there is no viewing. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska is handling arrangements. Memorials may be directed to his family for a later designation. Ben was born May 26, 1951, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Dan and Betty (Long) Hitch. He graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School with the class of 1969. Ben married Bonnie Packett on December 5, 1970, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe and retired in 2014. Ben was training to be a Docent at Speedway Motors. He enjoyed everything to do with cars, when he retired he bought a 1937 coupe to restore. Ben is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hitch of Lincoln, NE; sons, Ben (Amy) Hitch Jr. of Aurora, CO and Zackery Hitch of Lincoln, NE; grandson, Colton Hitch; mother, Betty Rains of Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Judy (Peter) Carroll of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Mike (Arletta) Hitch of Wichita, KS, and Jim (Kathy) Hitch of Lincoln, NE; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Hitch; son, Ryan Hitch; and step-father, Robert Rains.
Benjamin married Bonnie Packett on 05 Dec 1970.
