Husband, first, of Mary A. O'Neal Baker (1835-1894), whom Smith wed sometime in the early 1860s and is buried next to, then, after being widowed, of widow Eliza Truitt, whom he wed in Sussex Co. on 22 March 1897.
Father of Artha H., Mariah J. (Howard), William H., Anna E. (Hastings), Mary E. (Fleetwood), and Rhoda S. (Carmean).
