He owned and operated Hagaman's Tavern with his wife Catherine (Hankinson) Hagaman. It was located 2 miles north of Pennington. Six years after the death of his wife, he committed suicide at the age of 49. The tombstones for he and his wife are no longer standing.

08. Thomas Hankinson Hagaman died in service during the Civil War. He left a widow and two children. A son Emanuel Hagaman and a daughter Mary Virginia Hagaman.
