23 Feb 1663: He was shown as Robert Davis on a listed of headrights for Richard Hill Senior when he patented 1,000 acres on the south side of Hunting Creek. Accomack Co., VA Received a land patent Mar 26 1672, tract A124, between Bloxom & Garatha, Accomack Co. for 350 acres at the head of the branches of Muddy Creek, by some called Guilfords Creek, adjacent John Parker, Thomas Nixon, Miles Gray and Griffin Savage. This land was west and slightly south of Gargathy. The northwest portion of the tract extended toward Guilford and the town known today as Bloxom. Named as a headrightOct 9 1672 He was shown as Robert Davis on a patent granted to John Ayres and Christopher Thompson when they patented 600 acres "adjacent to Captain Richard Hill's land in froker neck at the head of Hunting Creek. Named as a headrightMay 27 1673 Occohannock Creek, Accomack Co. where he was shown as Robert Davis on a patent to John Waltham for 700 acres on the north side of "Accohanock Creek." (NOTE: Evidently Robert Davis made at least two trips back to England after first coming to the Eastern Shore.) Tax listBetween 1674 and 1695: Accomack County, He had one tith in 1674, 1675, 1676, 1679 and 1681. In 1682 and 1683 he had two tithes and in 1685 only one again and from then on two tithes through 1695. This shows he had one or another grown son (above 16) in his household from 1682 until 1685 and then each year had one son of legal taxable age from 1685 until 1695. Deed of Gift - Oct 18 1682 Accomack County, Robert Davis gave his son William Davis a cow and a calf. Will proven Jun 4 1706; Accomack County, Virginia. In his will Robert Davis gave to son son Samuel Davis land on the South side of Gilford or Muddy Creek. To son Thomas Davis land on the North side. To son James Davis 100 acres, being part of my divident of 350 acres. To wife Elizabeth my plantation during her life. To son William Davis 1 shilling. To son Robert Davis 1 shilling. To daughter Elizabeth Parks 1 shilling. To daughter Mary Read 1 shilling. To daughter Sarah Davis bed & fuinture & 1 shilling. To wife & 3 daughters Gean Davis, Comfort Davis & Easter Davis the remainder of my estate. Wife Elizabeth Exec. Witt: John Morris, Obedience Pitman, Thomas Bell. (NOTE: Nottingham's abstract omits his son William who was given 1 shilling as shown above.)
