William Irving Brown was born to Kibble John Brown (b. 1798 - d. aft. 1890) & his first wife Rachel Cullen (b. 1804 - d. 1852) on May 14, 1825 in Salisbury, Maryland. He had 1 full brother, 3 full sisters, & 3 half-brothers.
William married Mary Ellen Gordy on February 17, 1848 in Worcester County, Maryland. They had 5 children: John M. (12/21/1849 - 5/16/1927); Adella Hester (1854 - ?); George William (1/10/1855 - 8/8/1932); Noah James (8/20/1857 - 3/16/1937); & Clayton M. (3/1860 - 8/1870). Mary E. Brown died on March 13, 1860 at the age of 31 years, 10 months, & 21 days.
William then married Jane Lovey Hearn in Somerset County, Maryland on January 2, 1862. They had seven children: Euthaddeus Irving (12/28/1862 - 1/14/1938); Ernest Edward (12/29/1865 - 11/3/1957); Mary C. (9/5/1867 - 4/17/1939); Eda Bella Edith (6/20/1869 - 12/20/1915); Arteoneus Columbus (12/1871 - 1906); Clarence Jerome (3/6/1874 - 2/20/1936); & Ora Edna (1876 - April 1, 1963). Jane Lovey Brown died on December 19, 1889 at the age of 54 years, 2 months, & 16 days.
He died on January 7, 1903 at the age of 77 years, 7 months, & 25 days.
