To wife Nancy Short - all the land whereon I now live that formerly belonged to Spencer Benson and 25 acres that I bought of Selby Connaway and 43 acres that I bought of my father. Also Negro man named Pete and Negro boy named Jerry. Also 2 horses and the oldest pair of steers. Also still and tub and casks. This for the lifetime of my wife; but if she should marry, she shall have "nothing of my estate"
To son Leonard Short - the above estate after wife's death or marriage
To daughter Betsy Short - 140 acres in Nanticoke Hundred formerly belonging to Jacob Johnson. Also horse and mare, bed and furniture, cow and calf
To daughter Sally Short - 51 acres formerly belonging to Joseph Wyatt. Also pair of steers and cow and calf
To daughter Neomy Short - Negro girl named Selah and bed and furniture, cow and calf
To daughter Prissey Short - Negro girl named Finer and cow and calf, bed and furniture
To son Hamilton Short - all the land that I bought of Isaac Short laying along the State Road and Negro man named Seth
To daughter Levinah Short - 68 acres formerly belonging to James Messick. Also Negro boy named Tice. If she should die without lawful issue, then Hamilton to have this land
To son John Wingate Short - all the land that formerly belonged to Shadrack Short laying in Broad Creek Hundred. Also Negro boy named Handy. Also remainder of estate and that he should pay my daughter Neomy the sum of $50
