In 1678 Captain John Savage left to his daughter Grace and her husband Dr. George Corbin three plantations tenanted by Samuel Yonges, John Abbott and Thomas Church, estimated to be 250 acres. In 1713 the will of a George Corbin (wife Susannah) mentions sons Ralph and Robert, daughter Ann Bloxom and her husband John, and a grandson George Bloxom. In 1737 Thomas Savage (wife Ester) left personalty to Savage Bloxom, whose own will was probated later in the year, when he mentioned no children and left everything to his wife Mary. In 1747 in a suit over a lease on the property it was brought out that Grace Savage had married George Corbin and after his death a Bloxom, by whom she had a son Savage Bloxom, to succeed to the title. When he died without issue, the descendant of John Savage II, the named heir of Captain John, had claimed title as the living heir-at-law (Whitelaw, p. 227). However an Orphans court held for Northampton County on 20 June 1733, Mr. Thomas Savage Guardian of Savage Blocksom came into Court and offered that he would Educate, Cloath and maintain the said Orphan for the proffits of his Estate and that he would also remit the Ballance of an accot this day orderd to be Recorded as likewise the Ballance of a former Accot Recorded wch after appearing to the Court to be for the benefit of the Orphan the same is agreed to (Walczyk, Gail M. Northampton County Orphans Accounts 17__-17__. Coram, NY: Peter's Row; p. 6)
