From the Fredericksburg (VA) Weekly Recorder in 1849, we get the obituary, "In Worcester County, Maryland on the first Inst., an old Revolutionary Soldier in the 94th year of his age, an old companion had been gone out but a few months, and he has gone to meet her in a better land where there is no more parting. He has left 13 children and a great many grandchildren and great grandchildren to mourn their loss. May he rest in peace.
He served in the Revolution for the 11th VA Regiment in 1781-82...he probably came to Worcester Co., MD abt 1785-90.
In the 1790 Federal Census for Worcester Co., he has a household as 102002.
In his will written Mar 31 1847 and proven in Worcester Co., MD on Apr 17 1849, he devised:
-To wife Susan, part of ABRAMS LOT containing 126 acres for her lifetime then to son Samuel, he to pay son Francis $25 at the death of his mother out of the land
-To son George M., part of FOCKABUS, containing 96a, during his lifetime then equally divide with sons James, William, Lorenzo, Francis, Seth, Samuel and daughters Nancy, Leah, and Susan
-To son Samuel, part of FOCKABUS, 110a
-To wife Susan, all of personal estate during her life then equal to all the children mentioned above
-Son Samuel to be sole executor.
