C:057 JOHN COFFAN 09/07/1776 10/14/1776 "being in perfect mind and memory . . ." Bequeaths to: 1. Cornelius Coffan -son, to have 125 acres of land lying and being at the head of Hidrin Creek and branch with the house and plantation belonging and being part of a tract of land called "Scottish Plott" 2. Abner Coffan -son, should testator's son Cornelius die w/out issue, then to have the 125 acres of land left to him 3. Comfort Coffan -wife, to have the use of the plantation whereon the testator now lives during her widowhood and should she marry to have but one third of the land, named executrix of the will 4. William Coffan -son, to have the land and plantation whereon the testator now lives 5. Thomas Coffan -son, should testator's son William die w/out issue then to have the land and plantation left him -Abnar and Thomas --testator's 2 youngest sons-- to have Negro man "Dick" after legacies paid, Abnar and Thomas to have the remainder of the personal estate 6. Mary Chester -daughter, to have the improvement she now lives in and also 1 bed and furn which she now has and 1 chest 7. Eydlott Hudson -grandson, Richard Hudson -grandson, to have the sum of 5 pounds each to be paid by executor when they arrive at the age of 18.
