Ebenezer Powell wrote his will on Feb 15 1859 and it was proven in Worcester Co., MD on Mar 22 1859:
-To son Lambert C. Powell, the land on which he now resides "Hardship" and "Addition to Hardship" containing 150a, also $100 and the 11a lot where William Davis now resides.
-To son, George E. Powell, the land on which he now resides that I purchased of William Parker & wife and William D. Fassitt & wife, adjoining land of Lambert C. Powell, also a house and lot formerly belonging to James Ellis Sr. and all of the lands I purchased from Caleb Parsons, father of John F. Parsons, also the land I purchased of Jeremiah Hall containing 50a more or less.
-To daughter Sally Catherine the 335a farm on which I now reside, negro woman Leah, negro boy Horace, the carriage I won and first choice of my horses, her choice of a cow/calf and bed/furniture, also the farm known as The Burnt House Farm containing about 100a adjoining Isaac Boston and Thomas Catlin's lands
-To son William R. Powell, the lot, storehouse and dwelling on the river where Adam Bethards now lives which I bought of Thomas D. Purnell, also brother George to pay him $200 in two equal sums with interest within 2 years of my death
-To Henry C. Powell, son of Josiah, the house and lot in Newark (as New Ark) where said Josiah now lives on condition that Henry pays my son Isaac $25. Josiah may occupy the house free of rent for a year after my death.
-To Annanias Powell, the right to cut for ten years, the timber on the Burnt House Farm near Thomas Collins' lands.
-All the rest of my estate divided between son George and daughter Sally Catherine.
