Sidney Ray Wooten

Sidney Ray "Sid" Wooten Sr., age 82, of Snow Hill died Thursday, June 4, 2020 at home. Sid was born in Newark, MD and was the son of the late George Hillary and Viola (Davis) Wooten.
He was a retired Resident Maintenance Engineer for Maryland State Highway Administration. Sid was a member of Spence Baptist Church, Life Member of Snow Hill Fire Co., member of the Worcester Chapter Order of Eastern Star #102, Sinepuxent Lodge #193 AF&AM. He also served in the US Navy. Sid was an avid hunter and loved his family. He is survived by his children, S. Ray Wooten Jr. (Melanie Meeks), Bambi Moyer (Bill Jump) and Barbara Hitch (Mike Hitch) all of Snow Hill; five grandchildren, Kenton Moyer (Olivia), Michael Hitch Jr. (Krystle), Ryan Wooten (Kennedy), Shannon Donoway (Matthew), and David Hitch (Katelyn); four great-grandchildren, Rylin Moyer, Rhett Moyer, Emersyn Hitch and Charlotte Hitch and a special caregiver, Joanne Duguay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Lib" Pusey Wooten in 2012 and a great-grandchild, Lane Donoway. A funeral service will be held 1pm on Monday, June 15 at Snow Hill Vol. Fire Co., 4718 Snow Hill Road in Snow Hill with Pastor Ken Elligson officiating. A visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm at the Fire Co. Burial will be in Spence Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to restrictions surrounding COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be mandatory. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Spence Baptist Church, 4814 Paw Paw Creek Road, Snow Hill, MD 21863.

Sidney married Elizabeth P. Pusey, daughter of Frederick C. Pusey and Cora V. Perdue, on 21 Sep 1956. (Elizabeth P. Pusey was born on 05 Jun 1938 in Snow Hill, Worcester Co., MD and died on 10 May 2012 in Snow Hill, Worcester Co., MD.)
