James Michael Wathen

James Michael "Mike" Wathen, 49, of Hollywood, MD died December 27, 2004 in Hollywood, MD. Born December 11, 1955 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of Dorothy Wathen Clarke of Hollywood, MD and the late Joseph Charles Wathen, Jr. He was the loving husband of Rhonda Helms Wathen whom he married on May 19, 1978 in St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD. He is survived by his children Holly M. Wathen and Craig M .Wathen both of Hollywood, MD; Sisters Mary A. Branda of Wichita, Kansas and Susan (Sue) Wathen of Hollywood, MD and Brothers John P. (Shorty) Wathen of Callaway, MD, Joseph Charles (Buddy) Wathen, III and Robert A. (Tony) Wathen both of Hollywood, MD. Mr. Wathen worked as a Boiler Plant Mechanic for the Architect of the Capitol and was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident. He enjoyed working on and racing cars with his friend Kenny, as well as boating and crabbing. He loved spending time with family and friends in his garage. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30 at 9:30 AM in St. John's Catholic Church with Father Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Buddy Wathen, Shorty Wathen, Tony Wathen, Walter Johnson, Johnny Wathen and Bryan Johnson.
