Joseph Hook died before 6 August 1734 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Francis Bogs, who swore that John Hook died without making a will, was granted adminsitration on the estate. Samuel Davis, John Kendall, James Wishart and James Gibson, or any three of them, were ordered to inventory and appraise the estate of Joseph Hook, deceased.
On 4 Dec 1734 in Accomack Court Mary Kendall, Rebecca Blake and William Collins had each attended two days to prove the nuncupative will of Joseph Hook (deceased). Ordered that Francis Bogs make payment according to law.
His estate was settled on 6 December 1737 at Accomack Co, VA. On 6 Dec 1737 in Accomack Court Francis Bogs (adm. of Joseph Hooke, decd.) brought action of trespass against Hillyard Fadrey (attorney: George Douglas). Bogs was to file his declaration by the first day of the next court, or have his suit dismissed. On 3 Jan 1737/38 Francis Boggs (adm. of Joseph Hook, decd.) vs. Hillyard Fathrey was delayed. On 9 Feb 1737/38 Francis Boggs (adm. of Joseph Hook, decd.) vs. Hillyard Fathrey was continued to the next court. On 7 Mar 1737/38 Francis Boggs (adm. of Joseph Booty, decd.), who brought action against Hillyard Fathrey, failed to appear; he was nonsuited and ordered to pay the defendant five shillings. On 8 June 1738 Francis Boggs (adm. of Joseph Hook, decd.) vs. Hillyard Fadree, Samuel Rogers and Anne (his wife) was dismissed, the parties having agreed. On 1 Aug 1738 Francis Boggs (adm. of Joseph Hook, decd.) submitted an inventory. On 1 Aug 1738 Upon the petition of Francis Boggs (adm. of Joseph Hook, decd.), William Bagg, William Finney, Jr., and John Parker, Jr., (or two of them) were ordered to audit and divide the estate. On 5 Sep 1738 Francis Boggs submitted the audit and division of Joseph Hook's estate. A total of £77.6.10 was divided equally between Robert Stiseker, Sarah Richardson, John Guy and Susannah West's children, William Hook's children, and Francis Boggs' own lott.
