Edmund Johnson ¹

Edmund Johnson inherited 350a of Whitelaw tract N97 from his stepfather Edmund Kelly in 1683. He evidently lived on this tract all his life as he passed it to son Kelly Johnson in his will proven in 1721. The tract is located in the modern day (2017) east of and bordering on Nassawadox Creek, to the west bordered roughly by Wardtown Road, to the south by roughly Happy Union Drive and to the north at Sunset Cove Drive.

Edmund Johnson wrote his will on Nov 13 1720 and it was proven in Northampton Co., on Apr 19 1721 that mentions his wife Ann, daughter Elizabeth Johnson, son Kelly Johnson, son Edmund and five other children Phebe (as Febee), Jonathan, Jeptha, Sarah and Ann Johnson. Son Kelly and wife to be executors. Witnesses: John Bryant, Patience Dunfee, Sarah Fisher (NoVAW-XXIII-R:1718/23:123)

Edmund married Ann Kelly about 1698 in Northampton Co., VA. (Ann Kelly was born about 1677 in Northampton Co., VA.)
