John Harris Hayman 1
- Born: 1745, MD
- Marriage (1): Sarah (?) about 1770
- Died: After 1795
Beware that many genealogies have John Harris Hayman as son of John Hayman but a land patent for the 45a tract "Little Hope" granted in 1795 but was surveyed for James Hayman in 1745 shows it differently. There, a petition of John Harris Hayman states that his father was James Hayman who died on Nov 12 1745 after the survey. A deposition of Revel Hayman then stated that that John H. Hayman was only son and heir of James Hayman.
In 1780, John Harris Hayman is listed in the Salisbury Battalion, Mill Creek Co., Maryland militia during the Revolution.

John Harris Hayman does not appear in the Worcester land records again after Oct1795, and there are no John Haymans in Somerset census records from 1800-1820, giving the impression he had sold out and fell off the edge of the world (i.e. left the Shore).
John married Sarah (?) about 1770. (Sarah (?) was born about 1751 in MD and died before 1830 in Worcester Co., MD.)
