From "A Hitch Orchard" by Daisy Hitch Davies, 1931: The unusual name of "Chelcarra" is a combination of the last syllable of Rachel and Carra, both of these names being desired for this child. In 1930, she and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. All those years they have lived in the same place and have never had a death in their family. I had the pleasure of visiting with this couple during the summer of 1931. They reside on a farm.
Chelcarra married Hayden Ellis, son of James Ellis and Sarah Isabelle Beckett, on 22 Dec 1880.1 (Hayden Ellis was born on 23 Oct 1856 in Pendleton Co., KY,2 died on 25 Jan 1938 in Falmouth, Pendleton Co., KY 2 6 and was buried about 28 Jan 1938 in Concord Methodist Cemetery, Concord, Pendleton Co., KY.)
