From his Civil War Pension Records: Born February 1, 1844 at Aberdeen, Brown County, Ohio Stated that he served in Bush Foley's Regiment from July to near Christmas guarding Kentucky Central Railroad. Regiment disbanded near Christmas 1861. (He was only 16 years old)
Enlisted July 12, 1862 at Falmouth, Pendleton Co., Kentucky.
Personal description: 5'10" tal, light complexion, auburn hair, blue eyes.
Certificate of Discharge: Sgt. Addison Waggaman of Capt. William A McGinety's Co. E of the Seventh Kentucky Regiment of Volunteer Cavalry, U. S. I certify, that I have carefully examined the said soldier and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier because of necrosis of the right leg of long standing. The cause may be found in a scrofulous diatheses which in his case is heriditary. The right leg is much reduced in size and weak. I further declare that in my opinion he will never be able to perform the duties of a soldier. Signed by Col. J. K. Faulkner, Commanding this 10th day of May 1863 at Franklin, Tennessee. Nature of Disability: That he has suffered for years but now helpless with chronic rheumatism of long standing liver, kidney and bladder trouble, chronic. Also very bad sight.
At the time of this application, November 25, 1921, his address was Falmouth, Ky. R.D. 1, Box 78. Witnesses on the application were C. P. Mockbee and J. A. Day who were both neighbours on R. D. 1.
First wife: Mis Mary Ellen Hitch, married , April 4, 1867 near Falmouth, Ky. by Rev. H. P. Thompson recorded in Clerk's Office at Falmouth, Ky. She died April 1, 1888. Children: Elmer C. Waggaman, b. February 7, 1868; Flora B., b. June 24, 1869; Mary E., b. September 16, 1872, d. December 1908; Jossie L., b. November 7, 1874, d. October 3, 1877; Jessie H., b. December 10, 1876; Eva E., b. March 31, 1879, d July 28, 1879; William E., b. September 15, 1881, d. September 2, 1897; Nellie E., b. January 19, 1885.
Second wife: Mrs. Catherine Johnson/McGraim, January 15, 1890 by Rev. D. W. Robertson, recorded in Clerk's Office, Falmouth, Kentucky. She was previously married to John W. McGraim, November 15, 1884. He died September 11, 1885 near Falmouth performed by T. F. Toliferro. Her previous husband had no military record.
General Affidavit: Given and signed by Capt. William A. McGinety, age 71, May 22, 1911 in the town of Falmouth, Pendleton Co., Kentucky: "During the spring of 1863 in March or April in the field near Spring Hill, Tennessee while out with scouting party mumps developed with him and his throat and jaws were swollen and being sick he with othe guards was sent back to Franklin, Tennessee with prisoners that had been captured. The weather was bad and wet and he was unable for duty for quite a while he was attended by Dr. Sharp regimental surgeon and being broke down with chills and malaria on May 9th 1863 he was dischaged from the service and when this affiant came home from the war he found him the claimant Addison Waggaman still affected with malaria and the resulting disablities and was being treated by Dr. Wilcoxen this was in the fall of 1865. and spring of 1866 we was neighbours near Concord, Pendleton Co., Kentucky."

Addison married Mary Ellen Hitch, daughter of Luther Muir Hitch and Mary A. Best, on 04 Apr 1867.1 (Mary Ellen Hitch was born on 14 Feb 1843 in Pendleton Co., KY 1 4 5 and died on 01 Apr 1888.)
