David Wiltbank
- Born: 26 Mar 1892, Wilmington, New Castle Co., DE 1 2
- Died: 18 Jan 1947, San Luis Obispo Co., CA
Supposed to have deserted the Navy in WW I but this compiler cannot find record of that. On his WWI draft registration, Jun 5 1917, he is listed as enlisted with addess 1200 Walnut, Wilmington, DE; occupation sheet metal helper working for Joseph McGinley at 606 Orange Street. He states he supports his mother, is age 25 and has already had 3 years and 6 months service as a Navy Seaman and has a physical disability. For WWII, he completed a draft registration on Apr 27 1942 and is listed as 5'-4" tall, 172 pounds. By then, he is age 50 and living at 2205 West Street in Wilmington, DE. He is unemployed and appears to be living with the George Kolb family. (NOTE: George Kolb is his brother-in-law)
He is listed in the CA Death Records as dying on Jan 18 1949 in San Luis Obispo, CA. Upon further research, he died in a fire in a shack in Atascadero, CA in a jungle there. He was described as a "transient" who travelled around CA for the 25 years prior to his death.
