Story is told in "Where the Wings Grow" by Agnes De Mille published by Doubleday, NY, 1978. Note, this source states that there were 11 children in all - including the six listed here. However, three daughters died young of yellow fever and there were two stillbirths.
Mary married Capt. Ebenezer Vose Hitch, son of Frederick Augustus Hitch and Caroline Amanda Soule, about 1865 in LA. (Capt.
