Susan H. Hitch
(1836-1921/1931) |
Susan H. Hitch
From "A Hitch Orchard", Daisy Hitch Davies, 1931: Capt. Davis died just before his vessel reached port after a long sea voyage. I missed my opportunity to secure dated information from this dear old lady and am ashamed to have so few of her immediate family as it was she who sent me the records of her uncles and aunts. She was very intelligent, very well read and very refined. She had very high ideals and was a very interesting conversationalist. The word "Very" applies to her. She wrote to me almost up to the time of her death. Susan married Capt. Alvin Hyde Davis, son of Stephen Davis and Unknown, between 1856 and 1859 in Bristol Co., MA. (Capt. Alvin Hyde Davis was born in 1831 in MA 5 and died in MA.) |
