Ann Gough Hitch, 90, of Crozier, Va., formerly of Pine Knoll Shores, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012.
A memorial service and reception were held in Crozier, Va. She spent 18 years in Pine Knoll Shores with her husband where she was a member of the Pine Knoll Shores Garden Club and was actively involved in the community. She was a member of the Episcopal church both in Morehead City and Midlothian, Va. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Briggs of Crozier, Va., and Betsy Dilley and husband Larry of Venice, Fla., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Samuel George Leonard Hitch III. Donations may be made to Goochland County Fire and Rescue Association, P.O. Box 247, Goochland, Va. 23063. Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of Virginia in Richmond, Va.

Kathryn married Samuel George Leonard Hitch III, son of Samuel George Leonard Hitch II and Emma Porter Brattan, on 12 Jan 1946. (Samuel George Leonard Hitch III was born on 30 Jan 1918 in Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Norfolk Co., VA ⁴ and died on 17 Jun 2001 in Richmond, VA ⁵.)
