Francis Hitch
(1808-1849) |
Francis Hitch 2
From "A Hitch Orchard": A record taken from Gravesend Cemetery, Reformed Dutch, Brooklyn, N.Y. on Flatbush Avenue reads as follows; "Francis Hitch died March 4, 1848, age 40 years. Erected to his memory by his friends in Flatbush." Up to date [1930], the compiler has not been able to learn why this monument was erected. However, we feel love and admiration must have played a part. He was survived by his wife for many years. She was always an invalid. Francis married Sarah Pierce on 11 Aug 1832 in Freetown, Bristol Co., MA.1 (Sarah Pierce was born in Troy, MA.) |
