Capt. George Hitch
A Hitch Orchard states, "Captain George Hitch was a noted sea Captain in his day. He died while his youngest son was still a child. His sister Abby then cared for the home. George Hitch seems to have owned land on or near Fort St., Fairhaven, MA, a part of which was known as Hitch Grove. In this same locality a short street has been named 'Hitch St.'"
