In the 1813 Tax Assessment records for Sussex County, Clement Hitch is listed in Northwest Fork Hundred for himself only and no property. This is his first showing in the tax records with the last records in 1809 suggesting a birth year of 1789-1792. (SxTA-1813)

In the 1816 Tax Assessment records for Sussex County, Clement Hitch is listed in Northwest Fork Hundred with: 1 horse (SxTA-1816)

In the 1822 Tax Assessment records for Sussex County, "Clemment" Hitch is listed in Northwest Fork Hundred with: 1 small sow and 7 shoats (SxTA-1822)
